Today was match 3 of the Blackwater Summer League. The river was in very bad condition after two days of heavy rain there was lots of rubbish floating down and it was very coloured so not great conditions at all.
Saying that there was still some skimmers caught with the top weight on the day going to Pavel Dykun from A section with 3.625kg well done Pavel! Second place went to Jacko who had 3.125kg from B section and third was Meeky Cummings with 2.425kg also from B section.

Back again in 2 weeks time for the final match in the league we’re hopefully the conditions will improve by then.

Over the weekend we held our annual carp trip to Toomans on Friday and Saturday. The weather last week leading up to it wasn’t great which didn’t help things but the weights were still great over the two days. Top weight over the two days was Kevin Maguire who weighed 234lb on the first day followed by 216lb on a supposedly worse peg to win the trip with 450lb well done Kevin top angling!

Top 4 over the weekend were :
1st Kevin Maguire 450lb 12oz
2nd Johnny Mckinley 290lb
3rd Nigel McKinney 253lb
4th Joel Carson 244lb 10oz

Teams of 3 winners Kevin, W***y & Adam
Total Weight of 825lb 15oz over the two days

Over the two days 2000lb of fish were caught by 9 anglers what a venue Toomans is!

Big thank you to Tony and Looby for letting us use the lake and do the weigh in each day and for looking after us all everyone really enjoyed it.

Thanks to Kevin for running the trip it went without any faults and hopefully we can do it all again next year!

Round 2 of the Blackwater Summer League
Hopes were high at the draw this morning that finally a few skimmers might show today. Although the fishing was still quite tough there’s been a few skimmers caught today in areas.
Top weight on the day and with another match win was Darren Cloran with 8.775kg well done Darren 👏 followed by Nicky Seedon in 2nd place with 7.700kg with some proper lumps in his catch and 3rd place was Tommy Tennison with 3.825kg.

Today was the first match of the Blackwater Summer League on the Argory stretch of the River Blackwater. After a few skimmers showing last week in the knockup hopes were high that today we could see it improve further.
It’s actually fished tougher day than any match so far with very little bites for most anglers top angler on the day was Darren Cloran with 1.375kg followed by Adam Baile in 2nd with a skimmer and some small fish and Jacko in 3rd place with 0.825kg well done lads on a very tough day.

Section winners: Johnn McKinley, J***y Keith, Darren Cloran, Adam Bailie.

Next round is in 2 weeks time we’re hopefully things improve slightly 🙏🎣🐟
