BUSTER AND THE PIGEONS | HEADLINER
I’ve wanted to book this lot for a while! The harmony between the music, writing and aesthetics speaks for itself, but after chatting with Buster about The Showcase, we got onto spoken word and how difficult it is to make it land without losing the audience. That conversation solidified my choice to book them as a headliner. There’s an attention to detail throughout, from the humour and social commentary in the lyrics to the visual identity of the films, artwork and content.
Their pop-up under Gypsy’s Bridge in Leigh is a great example. It’s a simple but original idea, and personally not something I’ve seen another band do. Combine that with a band of talented musicians who can bring it all musically to life, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them at The Railway. Album two is rumoured to be arriving this month, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing some of the unreleased material live.
