We are looking for talented local musicians for upcoming Cutting Keys concert opportunities.
Auditions will be held soon for musicians interested in being part of live performances with Cutting Keys, including paid concerts, showcases and future series taking place through the year and across the country.
Cutting Keys is a concert series centred around composer and pianist Maestro Taylor Higgs, bringing unusual instruments, strong musicianship and one-off live collaborations into intimate concert settings.
So far, Cutting Keys has worked with artists performing kora, guzheng, guembri, gypsy guitar, saxophone and organ, bringing different musical traditions into conversation with piano.
We are especially keen to hear from talented drummers, but we are open to strong musicians across all instruments and styles. We are also interested in hearing from players of unique, traditional or less commonly seen instruments.
Our next event features the bandura from Ukraine, performed by Mariia Petrovska, with piano from Taylor Higgs. A percentage of ticket sales will go to a children’s charity chosen by Mariia.
This is an opportunity for local musicians to get paid work, meet other serious players and become part of something special, skilled and original.
