Sanders are renowned for making Superior Sails for Racing, Cruising, One Design and Classic Yachts. Our aim is simple: To make the best performing, highest calibre, most affordable sails. Based near the waterfront in Lymington, Hampshire, Sanders is a Sail & Cover Maker with distinction - offering fast turnaround times, excellent service and expert advice. Our knowledgeable team pay attention to e

very detail, using materials ranging from traditional woven fabrics to the very latest custom carbon membranes. We have a separate department within the Sail Loft purely dedicated to sail repairs and during the winter we can wash and overhaul sails before storing them in our heated premises until the start of the new season. The Covers Loft situated on site offers a friendly bespoke service specialising in making individual covers to suit ever boat owners' requirements. A family run company established in 1974 by Managing Director Peter Sanders, it currently employs more than 20 people and is now leading the way in making first class Sails & Covers.

Who was onboard this Contessa 32?! ⛵

💛 Clue: It’s a family affair…

The Rogers family is an iconic name within the sailing community, having built — and still family-run today — the prestigious Jeremy Rogers Boat Yard renowned for producing the stunning Contessa 32.

Here at Sanders, another family-run business with the same values of craftsmanship, quality and striving to deliver beautiful products, we’re proud to see our sails and covers adorning so many of the Contessa fleet.

So, it was a real honour to sit down and chat with Dr Ben Rogers about his fantastic winning year aboard his beautiful Contessa 32, Solan Goose, at the Taittinger Regatta and Cowes Week, along with his connection for choosing Sanders as his sailmaker.

For Ben, winning is amazing — but the icing on the cake is having his family as crew onboard.

“We are a very close family and all love our sailing and this year on Solan Goose really was a tribute to them and all they have achieved and the legacy they have left us. Jeremy and my father’s two big things were sailing and family.”

🍾 What a result! 🍾

Well done to Mark Brown and his crew onboard 'Jet Pack' JPK 10.10 with their incredible effort in the 'Round Britain & Ireland Race 2026'.

Completing the race on Saturday 22nd September after 14 days at sea, they currently lie as provisional Winners of IRC 3.

The whole team here at Sanders would like to send all those involved with Jet Pack's success a very big CONGRATULATIONS! We are proud that Sanders were onboard to help achieve this amazing result.

⏬ Guess what the legendary sailor Tom Cunliffe & Chris Sanders recently chatted about!? ⏬

OK… that was probably a very easy one to answer!

A close friendship between Tom and Peter Sanders grew from a shared love of traditional seamanship, craftsmanship and practical innovation, and that connection has continued through the years with the Sanders team.

Designing and making sails for Tom’s beautiful Mason 44 'Constance', has been a privilege for the Sanders Team. Even better is seeing the enjoyment these sails bring to Tom and Ros whilst they spend time cruising onboard.

Tom recently took time out from sailing 'Constance' through the Swedish fjords to become our latest 'Meet the Sailor'.

“We were still sailing the 22-ton gaff cutter Westernman with 1500 square feet of fore-and-aft sail and no useful winches, when we had bus passes….”

A glimpse into Tom's adventures, sailing life and stories that make Tom and Ros so special — leaving you with that cosy, warm feeling that perhaps your own next adventure doesn’t need to be quite as grand as theirs, but just to get out there and enjoy life on the water!
