Just a few of the many highlights from last week's auction at our Cheshire Saleroom 👏

Lot 375 - JAMES CHARLES EDINGTON; a Victorian hallmarked silver centrepiece, with a cut frosted glass bowl supported by two cherubs and a large lion, possibly Romulus and Remus, on a triangular stand with acanthus scroll feet, London 1838, 91ozt/2833g, overall height 41.5cm.

Sold for £5,600

Lot 2327 - CONTINENTAL SCHOOL; oil on canvas, still life of flowers, indistinctly signed lower right ‘J X Petter 1885’. 49.5 x 39.5cm, framed.

Sold for £1,100

Lot 1161 - A walnut four poster style bed, with four turned large uprights, with serpentine panelled headboard, on turned legs, height 158cm, length 218cm, width 167cm.

Lot 66 - EDWIN THOMPSON BRYANT; an imported Edward VII hallmarked silver figure of a soldier with sword in scabbard and bell, set with blue, red and green coloured stones, import marks for London 1902, height 15cm, approx 8ozt/250g.

We started yesterday's watch auction with a beautifully curated selection of pocket watches, here are a few of the highlights ⏱️ ⬇️

Lot 1000 - THOMAS RUSSELL & SON; a good 18ct yellow gold crown wind full hunter pocket watch, the enamel dial signed 'Thomas Russell & Son 97392', with 18ct gold cuvette, diameter 50mm, gross weight approx 137g.

Lot 1001 - ASPREY & CO, NEW BOND STREET; a good 18ct yellow gold crown wind full hunter pocket watch, with stop watch and minute feature, the enamel dial set with Roman numerals and two subsidiary dials, with 18ct cuvette, diameter 550mm, gross weight approx 177g.

Sold for £5,950

Lot 1004 - An 18ct yellow gold crown wind full hunter pocket watch, the enamel dial signed 'Russells Ltd, 18 Church Street, Liverpool', set with Roman numerals, diameter 50mm, with 18ct gold cuvette, gross weight approx 135.99g.

Sold for £3,250

Lot 1006 - BARWISE, LONDON; an 18ct yellow gold key wind open faced pocket watch, the enamel dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, with fusée movement, diameter 50mm, gross weight approx 140g.

Lot 522 - CUNARD WHITE STAR LINE; a silver-plated teapot with Bakelite handle and decorated with scrolls and swags, with White Star logo and name to base, height 16cm.

Lot 521 - CUNARD WHITE STAR LINE; a Tuscan China nineteen-piece gilt-heightened part tea service, made for the VIP quarters and restaurants on the Queen Mary.

Lot 474 - A 19th century carved and painted pine figure head arm from the Steam Clipper Royal Charter.

Lot 539 - A collection of shipping line collectible ceramics, including miniature jug, various egg cups, Steam Navigation Co, SS Cor Ferry, The Bank Line, Manchester Line, crested ware items, Ellerman & Bucknell Steam Ship Co, also goblets, cup and saucer for IOM Turbine Steamer Viking.

CUNARD WHITE STAR LINE; a Tuscan China nineteen-piece gilt heightened part tea service, made for the VIP quarters and restaurants on the Queen Mary, known as the 'Royalty China', retailed by Stoniers of Liverpool, comprising six cups, six saucers (one af), six side plates and a sandwich plate, marked 'Tuscan China Metalised, Cunard White Star, Stoniers Liverpool', together with a RMS Queen Mary Coronation Dinner Menu, Thursday June 4th 1953 (20).
