Who was the real star, the performer or the persona?

In Mademoiselle Lender en Buste, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec captures Marcelle Lender in close-up, her expression conveying both elegance and stage presence.

Signed with a red monogram stamp and numbered 34 from the edition of 100, this lithograph in colours with full margins is from the rare deluxe French colour edition, printed by Ancourt, Paris, and published by Pan, Berlin.

Mademoiselle Lender en Buste will be offered in our Fine Pictures, Prints & Sculptures auction on Thursday 26th March, with an estimate of £8,000 to £12,000.

Untitled, from Rothko Memorial Portfolio (1973) by Bridget Riley is a striking example of Op Art at its finest. Through precise lines and carefully balanced colour, Riley creates a surface that appears to flicker and shift as you look at it.

Produced in tribute to Mark Rothko, this screenprint highlights Riley’s mastery of visual rhythm and perception, turning simplicity into something truly dynamic.

Marc Chagall was known for his dreamlike scenes filled with colour, memory and symbolism. His work often blends personal history with imagination, creating images that feel both intimate and timeless.

L’Horloge (’The Clock’) shows one of his recurring symbols, the floating clock. It reflects themes of time, memory and longing, which appear throughout his work.

Few artists captured memory and place with such colour and poetry as Marc Chagall.

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, signed, dated “1953” and inscribed “Vence” in ink, is a vibrant lithograph in colours and one of a limited number of artist’s proofs, as the intended edition was never realised. Works of this nature offer a rare glimpse into Chagall’s personal and experimental process.

A distinctive design from Tiffany & Co., this ‘Vannerie’ necklace is crafted in 18ct yellow gold and formed from a series of articulated woven links. The necklace is completed with a foldover clasp and is signed and dated 1995, with London import marks.

A refined bracelet showcasing graduated diamonds, this piece is set with transitional-cut stones with an estimated total weight of approximately 7.60 carats. The diamonds are mounted in articulated claw settings on a ‘Britannic’ expanding strap with a conforming clasp in platinum.

Showcasing a beautifully cut emerald-cut diamond, this solitaire ring is set with a stone of approximately 3.90 carats. The diamond is claw-set within a pierced scrollwork gallery, with chenier shoulders accented by graduated single-cut diamonds, leading to a tapering shank in white metal testing as platinum.

This Victorian diamond cluster brooch is designed as a flower spray and set with old-cut diamonds with an estimated total weight of approximately 11.70 carats. The central diamond is set in a cut-down collet and measures approximately 9.25mm x 4.4mm, surrounded by additional sparkling stones. The brooch tests as silver on 14ct gold, with later-added brooch fittings to the reverse testing as 9ct.

A vibrant example of Cartier design, this spray clip brooch is formed as a stylised looping sprig, set with a carved emerald and five oval-cut rubies forming the leaves. The stem is highlighted with old-cut diamonds, creating a lively contrast of colour and sparkle. Signed Cartier London the brooch is in yellow metal testing as 9ct gold.
