βUnknownβ panels...
This island likes to think of itself as a world leader in renewables, and in many respects, it is, however, there are many in the Solar Industry who are inextricably linked to the use of Tier 1 Solar Panels and a very small number of brands, at that.
Whether or not this is a good idea, is for you all to decide, but the requirement for a specific brand, because it is Tier 1, has recently got more difficult for the manufacturers and some brands have fallen away and that coupled with the slavery and child labour requirements here, may reduce that number down still further.
However, that still leaves a significant number of Manufacturers available and not taking account of these is limiting your clients to a few brands. Without exploring this consideration could be bad for both of you, for all the reasons that exist in all sectors when a handful of players arrange themselves with the vast majority of the market.
Remember, there are over 35 Tier 1 panel manufacturers that remained on the list throughout last year (all 4 quarters) and 34 who are, most importantly, still there even after Bloombergβs revisit and toughening of the criteria.
Aiming at the cheapest available may well be a business must for you, but closing yourself off to another tier 1 panel because you havenβt heard of the brand when it achieves the first aim, is closing off opportunity and potentially not providing an advantageous product (Guarantee, Panel Efficiency, Power Rating Degradation, weight etc.)
