I already have a morning routine.

Everyone (ok most people) have one. You wake up, do your routine, get on with your day.

Habits on the other hand take some time to form

And bed in.

I discovered 1 habit that has been an absoulte (I don't really like this word as its such a cliche but ..) game changer for me.

Some people call it 'morning pages', my coach calls it 'thought download' .. there are probably a few other names for it.

But basically once I'm back from my morning walk with doggo, I sit down, grab my book and mentally vomit on the page (nice image Hayward, way to go! 🙄)

You catch my drift though 😄

Everything - thoughts, feelings - conscious and unconscious, all goes down on paper.

It helps me process and there's something powerful about seeing things in black and white especially when its something you might need to face/deal with that you've been hiding from.

For me this habit allows me space to hear what my higher self or intuition wants to say easily without being blocked by ALL the daily DOING.

It helps me with clarity, dealing with my emotions and inspires me to write.

Like I said - game changer.

This time next year ..

I’ll be a skinny minny, have rock hard abs, run 10k in a super fast time, start training for a marathon, and have a body like J-Lo!

Who am I kidding?! 😆😆

I love my curves, my little squishy stomach and the fact that I run 5k on a Saturday morning with my dog when I blinking feel like it!

But you get the jist right.

A lot of people still make New Year resolutions similar to the above and there’s nothing wrong with that at all.

Except that 2 weeks into the month, they are stalking a tub of Hagendaz icecream in every possible shop 👀

Me - I choose to have a word for the year.

In 2023, my word was CONNECTION and in 2024 it was MINDSET.

Connection runs through everything we do in life and for me it was important that I connect with not just the people around me, but most importantly, myself.

That connection with myself brought me to work on my mindset. And man alive has that been a journey and a half through 2024!

Challenging my mindset and thoughts on so many things, changing the way I think about myself and those around me and recognising that the mind is a powerful force that can either send you to the depths of ‘beat myself up and crappy emotionsville’ or can work with you to change how you feel about yourself and therefore what shows up for you in reality.

So, this year it feels right to bring it all together.

I’m looking forward to building on my foundation of connection and so my word for the year is GROUNDED.

It was a simple request.

3 other people had been granted a 'yes' and I figured mine was also reasonable (and simple)

The request - To work from home on alternate Fridays. Made to my then boss, November 2019.

The response (summarised) - Jump through these unbelievably unrealistic and quite frankly stupid hoops to prove to me why I should grant you wfh on alternate Fridays.
Even though I've granted 3 other people in other teams I manage this very same request, you are my PA so jump and I'll hold out on whether I want to give you an answer or not for as long as I see fit 🙄

I didn't and to this day never understood why such a response.

February 2020 - I attended a PA conference at the Excel centre in London. I saw a stand about Virtual Assistants. Spoke to the lady, booked my training and launched my business in March 2020 (while working full time!)

May 2020 - Covid and lockdown hit. The whole world was wfh not just me!

I've never looked back!

You see, I was sick and tired of being TOLD where my ceiling was and not being allowed to grow past that.

Sick of being RESTRICTED on the different ways I could help people achieve their dreams and empowering others to do the same.

Fed up of what felt like BEGGING every time I needed time off to be there for what was important to me - my family.

In life we always have a choice. I wanted a better life, more freedom and the ability to grow without restriction while helping others.

The universe gave me an option and I made the choice.

And I am grateful for that twonk ☝🏾of a former boss who said no.

Because I have been on the most amazing journey (not all smooth sailing obvs!) - starting my business.

Tech, Words and Coffee Lounge.

Basically
👉🏾 if you have tech issues that are either scaring the beejesus out of you or driving you round the twist,
👉🏾 having trouble coming up with words for your social media posts, landing pages, sales pages and emails for your email marketing, or
👉🏾 you want someone to eyeball what you've written so that it actually makes sense and there are no grammar or spelling mistakes ....
Then come and have a session with me and lets work on it together or I can do it for you 😊
