We can't stress enough just how important it is to dispose of your home paperwork properly - it's equally as important to keep you safe from fraud as dealing with commercial records.

Fun stuff about UK GDPR (yes, really!)

There was such a hoo-ha around GDPR when it came into effect; it triggered a whole raft of memes.

Do you remember the Privacy Policy being shown as the Star Wars opening crawl? And accusing Santa's 'naughty or nice list' as being in violation? One of our favourites was when a former Shipping Forecast announcer recorded snippets of the regulations - sent us off to sleep in a jiffy!

Obviously, many of the big tech companies, especially the social media platforms, fell foul - as soon as GDPR was introduced, many of them, including Facebook, were sued because they were forcing their users to give up more of their data than necessary - presumably to sell to 3rd parties so we could all be marketed to more aggressively.

One of the biggest chuckles, though, was in March 2019: a provider of compliance software found many websites operated by EU member state governments contained embedded tracking from ad technology providers. Now that's what we call an 'own goal'!
