With all this uncertainty surrounding the energy market, price caps and tariffs increasing from April I just wanted to say don’t delay in looking at any emails or letters from your energy providers.

I’m working with my UW customers to ensure they make a decision that is right for them and in many instances, including me, we are seeing a big increase on our monthly bills. We are in safe hands with our provider who is the cheapest for Fixed and Variable tariffs. If any of my customers want to discuss their bill please get in contact. It’s a confusing time with lots of information flying around. I’ve shared a video from Martin Lewis with some of his recent tips and advice and will share anything else I think may help.

With the recent announcements that Energy prices are set to rise from 1st April, here are my top tips to help you keep on top of your energy bills ;

On your most recent bill, check that it states that you are in a Fixed Tariff and when the end date will be. Diarise to then call your provider before the end of the contract and discuss the new tariff rates.

Look at the section that tells you if your supplier has a better tariff to offer you that can save you money.

Ensure that you are providing your energy company with regular meter readings to keep your bills accurate and avoid going into debt. Some companies have the option for you to set up email alerts as reminders to do the readings if you tend to forget.

If you haven't already, look into the option of having a smart meter fitted to keep your consumption accurate with your supplier.

These are useful tips for any time but especially now as we have all been using a lot more of our supply in this last year than we anticipated.

Energy customers could see their gas and electricity bills increase by around £96 per year from 1 April after Ofgem announced the energy price cap will rise. Compare gas and electric prices to save money.
