Friendly Match Ahead of the League Season
Malton 2 travelled over to York on Wednesday night with a strong five-player squad, and what followed was a night full of competitive racketball, long rallies, and hard-fought battles on court.
Ruth put in a determined performance and came agonisingly close in her match, producing some superb rallies that had everyone watching closely.
The match of the night undoubtedly went to Jason, who was involved in an absolute thriller. After five intense games, the contest went all the way to a two-clear-point decider before Jason finally edged over the line to claim victory in dramatic style.
Yuri looked in control for much of his match and had things seemingly “in his pocket,” but still had to dig deep and work hard right to the very last point.
John kept the pressure on throughout his game, never allowing his opponent a way back in, earning himself a well-deserved win with a strong all-round display.
At number one, Kev was involved in another closely fought battle. In a very evenly matched contest, he pushed hard all the way but just couldn’t quite get over the line.
Overall, a great evening of racketball played in excellent spirit and a good win for Malton 2 ahead of the upcoming league campaign.
