If you and your partner have a Mirror Will and you leave everything in your estate to your children, they may not only have to pay Inheritance Tax on their own assets but also on any inheritance you have left them! This can mean that an estate could lose 60% of its original value through Inheritance Tax alone by the time the inheritance reaches your grandchildren.

Generational inheritance tax it is a scheme which allows the government to tax your money for generation's. Which leads to the erosion of inheritance which is passed down from generation to generation. This means that your children , grandchildren and even your great grandchildren may have to pay tax on money that you have already paid tax on. Make sure you have the right protection in place so this doesn't happen to you.

Mental capacity means the ability to make or communicate specific decisions at the time they need to be made. To have mental capacity you must understand the decision you need to make, why you need to make it, and the likely outcome of your decision.

Some people will be able to make decisions about some things but not others. For example, they may be able to decide what to buy for dinner, but be unable to understand and arrange their home insurance. Alternatively, their ability to make decisions may change from day to day. An LPA helps give you the piece of mind so if you do lose mental capacity then you are covered.
