The sea air slapped us in the face today. Just like it does on the first day of every year.
And thank god. Nice to have a break from income goals and words of the year. To stop thinking about what big moves we could have made. Whose lives we didn’t change. The rooms that gathered dust. The work we didn’t do.
F**k it. We’re here. We made it. We get to fight another day. Our heart’s are pure. We deserve good things.

We’ve got to that phase.

The one where they play together and my heart hurts with pride.

Then someone gets Lego’d. One grabs the others hair and the other pushes back.

The little one rage stomps over the bricks like some sort of fire walk. The bigger one breaks the tower across her knee. Sh*t’s about to go down..

And then they bond over a shared bit of cornflake wedged between the sofa cushions, and things are good.

Ps, pls don’t talk to me about the teenage years. I prefer to experience chaos when it’s thrust upon me..
