It occurs to me that having posted so much about my beloved I’ve never taken the time to introduce them.
I suppose it’s fair to say that is the musical evolution of former solo singer-songwriter Christopher Eatough. He and I go all the way back to my days tending bar , when he and our friend Pat worked in the office block next door and would come in of an evening and while away the hours with me, a few pints and the best jukebox in Manchester.
Fast forward 13 years or so and you find in their current form. Joined by 5 other immensely talented and rather bloody lovely musicians, , , , and . Together they create glorious alt-country, English americana with the occasional vaudeville spritz.
It is to my great regret and shame that I was actually invited to perform on their first record (Old Songs for the New Celibacy, streaming on all platforms, my fave is Chancery Lane if you’re interested) but I was too busy working in my silly job to ever show up to a rehearsal so they went ahead without me 🤦♀️
I could go on to explain the many reasons why their songs hold such a special place in my heart but I’ve definitely waffled for far too already so just go check them out for yourself. The singles Tru Luv, Gender Agenda, Almost Is Not Enough and K.L.O. are streaming everywhere now to give you a taster of the new record prior to the full streaming release and you can win a physical copy along with a whole load of merch lovingly made by moi AND a £50 Ticketmaster voucher 🥳🥳🥳
