Featuring three industry professionals, the webinar provides a day-in-the-life of bioscientists working within different careers outside of the lab, including regulatory affairs, data visualisation and sales. It aims to introduce a range of careers offered to bioscientists that work within their fields, outside of lab-based positions.

The speakers in this event are:

Lucy Frost, a Data Visualisation Scientist at Medicines Discovery Catapult

Oana Rosu, a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Yourgene Health

Davinder Kular, an Inside Sales Associate at Junkosha Inc.

The judges were impressed with the quality of the finalist presentations, showcasing innovative ideas and outstanding research that highlight the future of biotechnology!

A huge thanks to the judges, speakers and mentors Catherine Castillo, Nick Proctor, Louisa Oliver Byrne, Fatima C., Isabel Rubio, Poppy Payne and Thomas Jennison. Your insightful talks, evaluation of each presentation and valuable feedback played a key role in making the event a success. Thank you for your commitment to bringing innovation to the North-West!

This year, the event saw a 76% increase in applications compared with the 2023 competition, and a 40% increase in the turnout for the Consulting networking event compared with our last event (2022), with a total of 105 attendees who enjoyed free pizza and drinks to celebrate the event’s success!

Thank you to Louisa Oliver (Access Infinity), Kavitha Baruah (Remap), Poppy Payne and Thom Jennison (Adelphi Real World) for providing this invaluable mentorship.

The North-West Biotech Initiative is delighted to announce a brand new event, “Inside Pharma”, in collaboration with STADA, a global pharmaceutical company.

The event will provide the opportunity to visit the STADA offices, development labs and manufacturing facilities in Huddersfield, network with industry professionals and gain valuable insights into the inner workings of a pharmaceutical company.

📍 Where: STADA, Huddersfield (Pick-up from Manchester Students’ Union)
📅 When: 18th June 2024
🚌 Pick-up: 9 am

We would like to massively thank to everyone who participated in the competition from day one, and the attendees of the seminar “From PhD to startup”

All our gratitude and admiration for the speakers of the seminar Charles Veys, Abdul A., Alice Mortiboy for the really insigthful and informative talks to inspire future deep-tech founders!
