🖤 One Last Rogue… 🖤
This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever had to write.
After a lot of thought, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision that our Rogue Alternative Market & Cabaret on Sunday 1st November will be our final event in Manchester.
When Rogue began, it was never just about having a market. It was about creating a home for our alternative community. A place where small businesses could thrive, performers could shine, friendships could be made, and people could walk through the doors knowing they would be welcomed exactly as they are.
Over the years we’ve laughed together, celebrated together and watched this wonderful community grow. We’ve met some incredible people and created memories we’ll treasure forever.
Sadly, passion alone isn’t enough to keep an event alive.
Every event costs hundreds of pounds before a single person walks through the door. Venue hire, licences, insurance, entertainment, equipment, marketing and months of planning all happen behind the scenes. As attendance has gradually declined, we’ve reached the point where we simply can’t continue without making significant losses.
We don’t say this to make anyone feel guilty. Life is expensive, people are busy, and everyone has choices about how they spend their time and money. But it is a reminder that independent events only exist because people choose to support them. When that support fades, even the events that people love eventually disappear.
If you’ve ever said, “I’ll come next time,” sadly, there won’t be a next time.
So we’re asking one final favour.
If Rogue has ever given you a fantastic day out, helped you discover an amazing independent trader, introduced you to incredible performers, or simply made you feel like you belonged, please come and celebrate with us one last time.
Let’s fill the room with laughter, applause, shopping, music and all the wonderful weirdness that has made Rogue so special. Let’s give our traders, performers and this amazing community the farewell they deserve.
