Proud to have played a key role on the delivery of Waterhouse Gardens, now officially completed.

This £195m landmark regeneration project has transformed the historic former Boddingtons Brewery site into a new neighbourhood in the heart of Manchester.

The scheme delivers:
🏙️ 556 new homes across five buildings, including a 26 storey tower
🏢 30,000 sq ft of commercial space
🌿 New public realm and amenity led spaces
🏊 Premium resident facilities through The Waterhouse Club
🍜 A new destination for city living, leisure and hospitality

Delivering a project of this scale on a constrained city-centre site came with significant challenges, multiple buildings, complex logistics, major level changes and countless moving parts. It required detailed coordination, collaboration and commitment from everyone involved.

A huge credit goes to all teams across , , consultants, supply chain partners and the wider project team who helped bring this vision to life.

Great to see a historically important Manchester site begin its next chapter and become a place people can now call home.

St. Michael’s – Phase 2

🎄 Merry Christmas from Artal! 🎄

On Tuesday, we held our annual get together to celebrate the past year. After a busy few months, it was great to have the whole team together, unwind, and let off some steam. We kicked things off in Flat Iron with a well earned steak, followed by a pub crawl, safe to say there were a few sore heads the next morning!

The team has been working incredibly hard, and we’d like to thank our clients and collaborators for their continued support. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It’s been a pleasure working with you throughout 2025, and we’re excited to see what 2026 has in store! 🎉✨

Day 2 of 3 is officially complete with our Beami training! It’s amazing having the whole team in one room, growing both professionally and personally. A huge thank you to Mike for leading us through these last two sessions — guiding the ARTAL crew is no easy task, but definitely a hilarious one!

Can’t wait for the third and final session… even though we’re sad it’s almost over!

Groundbreaking at Viadux Phase 2 – Nobu Manchester 🌆✨

Yesterday morning, the Artal team had the privilege of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Nobu at Viadux Phase 2, marking the official start of an incredible new chapter for Manchester.

It was an inspiring morning hearing from Robert De Niro, Meir Teper, and Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, three global icons whose vision and passion have helped bring the world renowned Nobu Restaurants brand to our city.

Located in the heart of Manchester, Viadux Phase 2 is set to become a defining landmark on the city’s skyline.

Designed by SimpsonHaugh and developed by Salboy, the project will include:

🏙️ A 76-storey mixed use tower, set to become the tallest building in the UK outside London.
🍽️ A 160 room Nobu Hotel and signature Nobu restaurant.
🏠 452 luxury Nobu branded residences.
🏢 A 23 storey companion tower providing 133 affordable homes.

All built above Manchester’s historic Grade II listed railway viaduct, seamlessly blending the city’s industrial heritage with modern design and innovation.

At Artal, we’re immensely proud to play a part in this transformative project, one that not only reshapes the skyline but redefines Manchester’s global presence.

The structure is rising quickly. We were lucky to catch some beautiful winter sunshine during our site visit, which made for some great photos of the development in action.

🏙️ Fifty5ive – Project Recap

⭐ Part 5 of our project recap series!

Completed in 2022, Fifty5ive is an 18-storey residential development delivering 219 apartments on the border of Salford and Manchester City Centre.

Designed to offer more than just a place to live, Fifty5ive brings together a wide range of on-site amenities, including a café, cinema, gym, yoga studio, co-working space, residents lounge, and cycle store. Retail options are also available on-site.

Well connected by transport links, the location makes it easy for residents, whether students, professionals, or families to move between Salford and Manchester and enjoy the area’s restaurants, bars, museums, parks, and attractions.

The project was completed over 2.5 years and adds a new layer to the city’s residential offering by combining convenience with access to community spaces.
