St Michael’s, Manchester

Today we’re putting the spotlight back on St Michael’s, a project we’re incredibly proud to be a part of.

If you’ve been through Manchester city centre recently, chances are you’ve noticed just how much this development has transformed the skyline. Rising above Deansgate, St Michael’s is fast becoming one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, and it’s exciting to see the vision becoming a reality.

At Artal, we’re proud to be supporting the project in our role as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors, carrying out monthly valuations throughout the construction process.

🏗️ So, what is a construction valuation?

A monthly valuation is an assessment of the work completed on site during that period. It ensures contractors are paid accurately for the progress they’ve made, while giving the client a clear understanding of project costs. It’s an essential part of keeping a project on programme, on budget and financially transparent.

Once complete, St Michael’s will deliver:
🏙️ A 44 storey landmark tower, standing approximately 144 metres tall.
🏨 162 luxury W Hotel rooms and 213 W Residences, bringing world class hospitality and luxury living to Manchester.
🏢 Over 75,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, alongside new public spaces, restaurants and leisure facilities such as Chotto Matte and Circolo popolare.

It’s been fantastic to watch this project progress month by month, and we’re proud to play our part in delivering one of Manchester’s most exciting developments.

Two Didsbury Point - Completed!

It’s fantastic to see residents moving into Two Didsbury Point, a landmark development that has transformed the former Withington Community Hospital site into a thriving new community.

We’re incredibly proud to have played a key role in delivering a development that provides both high quality affordable homes and improved healthcare facilities for the local community.

The scheme has delivered:

🏡 76 affordable homes, including 30 apartments for social rent and 46 shared ownership homes.
🏥 A brand-new NHS Didsbury Medical Centre, providing enhanced healthcare services for local residents.
🌱 The regeneration of a brownfield site into a sustainable, community-focused development in the heart of West Didsbury.

Projects like this demonstrate what can be achieved through strong collaboration. A huge congratulations to everyone involved, including Southway Housing Trust, Buttress, Bridgestone Construction, CITYBRANCH HEALTHCARE LIMITED, Homes England, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Manchester City Council and all the wider project team.

It’s rewarding to see a scheme that not only delivers much needed affordable housing but also creates opportunities for local people to remain in their community while improving access to essential healthcare services.
