We’re excited to share our latest work for Downing - creating the planning, consultation and marketing CGI for the proposed Nelson Street development in Bristol’s city centre.
The project will transform a brownfield car park into a 12-storey PBSA scheme delivering 331 high-quality student bedrooms alongside active ground-floor uses and public realm improvements.
A Place that Connects
The proposals prioritise accessibility and movement:
🛣️ Widened pedestrian footpaths and first-floor outdoor terraces
🚴♂️ New cycle lane along All Saints’ Street
🚌 Enhanced bus routes on Fairfax Street
🌳 Improved connections supporting Bristol’s 2030 carbon neutrality goals
🚫 A car free development
A Place that Grows
Designed to give back to the city:
☕ Ground floor spaces for shops, cafés and community uses
🌳 Street trees and green roofs improving biodiversity
🦶 Public realm investment boosting footfall in Broadmead
By concentrating student housing in the city centre, the scheme helps reduce pressure on residential areas, freeing up family homes and creating a more balanced housing mix.
Our visuals help communities and stakeholders understand how Nelson Street can become part of Bristol’s living fabric - accessible, sustainable and human-centred.
