Our series on pigments continues with a video outlining how to use them to ground your miniatures in the environment of their base!

This is an simple and effective way to add a bit of background and coherence to your painting. War is dirty, after all!

We are using pigments wet and then dry, with a little clean-up after... It's easier than you think!

Meet the blues! What better place to put them to use than an Ultramarine? This quick method uses airbrush, drybrush, and normal brush.

Process:

Airbrush:
Hollyhock from below
Sodalite all over
Zenithal Cobalt
Sodalite Filter (all over)

STOP AIRBRUSH! Go no further, you need 'space' to Drybrush.

Drybrush:
Sodalite drybrush all over
Add Cobalt

Highlight:
Edge highlight to taste (Sky)
