Slower mornings, starry nights and seals on a Tuesday.
I've been reflecting on life since our big move.
A few months ago, I packed up my business and moved across the water to Northern Ireland.
Here are a few unexpected things Iโve discovered about life here:
The pace of life is slower, and thatโs ok!
I can spend five minutes at the school gate asking someone how their week is going, and nobodyโs checking their watch or rushing off. It turns out slowing down hasnโt made me less productive, just a lot less frazzled.
The night sky is full of stars on a clear night. Actually full. ๐ซ
They LOVE small and local here! ๐ซ
My coffee beans come from a small local roastery. The Spa sells locally cooked homemade meals for one or for the whole family; supporting local isnโt a trend, itโs just how things are done.
๐ฆญ You can be shocked by what you might find five minutes down the road.
I popped out for a coffee, and there were literal seals outside. Seals! On a Tuesday morning.
Iโm not sure that will ever feel normal. ๐
Word travels fast...
Everyone recommends you. If you do a good job, word spreads fast, and I mean fast! Your reputation really is everything here, which, as a business owner, I absolutely love.
๐ People make time for you!
People reply to your emails even when they donโt need your services. Theyโll take a minute just to say hi and welcome you. That kindness has meant more than theyโll ever know.
Northern Ireland, youโve been very good to me. ๐
If youโre a Northern Ireland business, Iโd love to connect. And if youโve made a big move yourself, what surprised you most?
