We need to talk about the "Authority Gap."

Being ignored at work isn't just a frustration - it’s a data-backed reality for millions of women.

If we want true equity, we have to look at the numbers:
📉 The Interruption Gap: Men are 33% more likely to interrupt women than they are to interrupt other men. In meetings, men often dominate up to 75% of the conversation.

📉 The Recognition Gap: Women are 4x as likely as men to be treated as incompetent because of their gender. Even when they perform better, they are often rated lower on "potential" than their male peers.

📉 The Disrespect Gap: 66% of women report being patronised at work, and women are 41% more likely to experience a toxic culture defined by disrespect and abuse.
This isn't just a "women’s issue"
it’s a performance issue. When voices are silenced, businesses lose out on innovation, talent, and results.

What can we do today?
✅ Amplify: If a woman’s idea is ignored, repeat it and give her the credit.
✅ Interrupt the Interrupter: "I’d love to hear [Name] finish her thought first."
✅ Audit your bias: Are you judging "potential" or just rewarding the loudest person in the room?
Let’s move from awareness to action.
