⚠️ Customer Notice – 8MP ColourVu Cameras ⚠️

If you’ve recently had our new 8MP ColourVu cameras installed with two-way audio and smart hybrid light, and you’ve noticed your image is no longer 24/7 colour, please get in touch.

We’ve identified over the past few days that a firmware update has changed the way the smart hybrid IR/white light operates. It may now be defaulting to IR (black & white) when no motion is detected, instead of maintaining full-time colour.

This has already affected a few recent installations, so we’re proactively reaching out.

If you would like your cameras set back to 24/7 full colour, that’s absolutely no problem just let us know and we’ll get it sorted for you free of charge.

⚠️ Important Notice for Businesses with CCTV

Recent guidance around data protection and CCTV usage continues to emphasise the legal requirement for clear and visible CCTV signage wherever cameras are operating on commercial premises.

If your business records members of the public, staff, or visitors, you must clearly inform people that CCTV is in operation. This is normally done through warning signage placed at entrances and around monitored areas.

At Guardian Watch Ltd – Protecting what matters most, we have recently reached out to the majority of our commercial clients to provide FREE CCTV warning signs to help ensure compliance.

Due to demand, our free signage stock is now becoming limited. From May 2026, CCTV warning signs supplied by Guardian Watch Ltd will be chargeable.

If your business has not yet received a CCTV warning sign, please get in touch with us and we will do our best to supply one while free stock remains.

Bit of a strange post to write, but we’ve had a few customers get in touch to say they’ve received messages or comments on local for sale/swap pages from accounts using our name or attempting to impersonate us.

We’re not sure whether this is another company with a similar name accidentally tagging us or something more malicious. Either way, if it’s not from this page or directly from myself (Ben), then it isn’t us. We also do not post anonymously.

It’s with a heavy heart I share the news that Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton has passed away at just 46. A true legend in British boxing world champion, fierce competitor, loyal to his roots, and someone who inspired far beyond the ring.

He battled his demons openly, spoke often about his struggles with mental health, and showed courage not only in victory but in vulnerability. As we mourn this loss, let’s also remember the fire, the passion, the laughs, and how much he meant to so many.

Rest in peace Ricky. Your legacy will live on. 💔

⚠️ Another Callout – Another Shocking Install ⚠️

Please, be careful who you choose to install your CCTV system.

This is the 5th job in just two months where we’ve been called out to fix someone else’s mistakes and once again, we thought it must’ve been DIY… but no, this was done by a “professional.”

Just look at this:
• A weatherproof gland facing the sky water running straight in
• The back box fitted sideways – despite it having an arrow and ‘bottom’ clearly marked
• No rear seal fitted the customer wondered why the camera failed when it rained and magically came back to life in the sun

We replaced the mess with a correctly fitted junction box, complete with rubber seals and the gland facing downwards, and managed to save the camera by cleaning the corroded terminals and replacing the power and video connections.

🛠️ And a quick note to any budding DIYers out there:
If it’s electrical – don’t point the gland at the sky. That’s not weatherproof, that’s a birdbath.

We always aim for a clean, reliable finish using the correct methods. Full concealment isn’t always possible – but there’s never an excuse for poor protection or sloppy work.
