A Look back

One thing photography continues to teach me is that creativity grows when you allow yourself to step into unfamiliar spaces.

Last year, I photographed a Doberman charity event which, if you know me, is slightly outside of my usual photography work.

What I thought would be a straightforward event shoot quickly became a day of adapting, observing and genuinely connecting with people and their animals.

At one point I was rolling around in hay trying to photograph dogs at eye level. Later I found myself in the stable stroking horses and speaking to owners about the comfort and companionship animals bring into their lives.

The experience reminded me that photography isn’t always just about the image itself. Sometimes it’s about being fully present in an environment long enough for people to trust you with real moments.

Definitely one of the more unexpected shoots I’ve done, but one I’m grateful I said yes to.

Stop Chasing Moments. Read The Energy.

At a certain level, everyone can take a “nice” photo.

What separates strong event photographers is anticipation.

Watch body language.
Watch movement.
Watch who’s gravitating towards who.

The best moments usually happen seconds before everyone else notices them.

You’re not just documenting events anymore…
You’re documenting emotional rhythm.

Healing and Wellness, I do not always get sick during the winter months, but this current multitude of flues and bugs inhabiting the local area, means I alas decided to befriend it lmao...

Needless to say, sleepless night, nausea, headaches and migraines, lack of my complete appetite 😫 😑...

Am I worrying about getting better, or is my focus on which bill has been resolved or what is due for payment, how long this sickness is going to last or my plans for marketing could have still started regardless of me being ill.

All true, but I have to say ✋️ 🫸
If I keep running myself into the ground, who replace me, (noone)
If I cannot function who can do my office functions for me, (noone)

So I am left with a brilliant scenario or script....
Drink enough fluids
Get as much rest
Steam it out
Chill the #&£ out
And breathe

Nothing can start or stop without me, so I need to just focus on getting back healthy x

Soulchild is out of office, due to illness x
