Do you remember the amazing Carnival Cook-Up event that we posted recently? Well, behind every great event is a team that knows their way around the kitchen 👨‍🍳

Meet Joe, Cooking Leader and Co-ordinator at , where their incredible work means kitchen kit items are rehomed, reused and given new life, confidence to cook-from-scratch is instilled in communities and through events and cooking sessions, meals are made for underserved and at-risk of hunger communities.

They also offer a yummy catering service, combining their amazing food skills and social purpose to host private events - with every order at least 15% of their fee goes to helping fund projects that engage underserved communities 🥘

Click on the video to join us over at Youth Homeless Centre and get a look behind the scenes as 's talented Chef and Cooking Leader Joe prepares their latest catering order, while throwing in some useful tips for everyone! Now, every time CGF prepares their catering at Centrepoint, meals will be donated to those attending the centre - that's true impact for those impacted by homelessness🧡

1,654 nutritionally balanced meals made for homeless communities 🥘
£319.50 raised in raffle ticket sales 🎟️
Supported 11 homeless support organisations across Greater Manchester 🤝

We recently joined the fantastic team at to help prepare over 1,500 meals for people experiencing homelessness across Greater Manchester and this proved that some days at work end up being the ones you remember most. 🧡

The day was filled with good conversations, lots of laughter and a real sense of purpose. It was amazing to see so many people coming together to make a difference, and we're so grateful we had the chance to be part of it.

A huge thank you to everyone at for making the day so special. This was our first time volunteering with them, but not the last! ✨

Their next big Cook-Up event will be on Tuesday 1st December -Festive COOK-Up!- at Freight Island for loads of feel-good festive fun - Get in touch before Thursday 24th September if you would like to book a spot. Don't miss out!

We recently had the amazing chance to spend some time with the team at and learn more about the work they're doing with people in addiction recovery across Greater Manchester. ✨

In this video, Kate and Shawn talk about how the organisation began, the projects they're currently running and their ambitions for the future. Wayne and Christina also share their experiences of being part of and how it has supported them on their recovery journeys and transformed their lives.

What stood out to us was the range of opportunities Fitness creates for people to get active, from gym training to boxing to even facials! They encourage everybody to try something new and feel part of a community while navigating rehabilitation.

If you haven't come across Rehab Fitness CIC before, this video is a great introduction to their work. You'll want to keep track of them as they keep growing! 🧡

The future of the social economy is in good hands ✨ 

At Tales of Inspire & University of Manchester recent social entrepreneurship event, students pitched inspiring projects focused on creating real social impact - and two initiatives particularly stood out.

Dr Ghada Soliman is empowering women to transform old garments into new fashion pieces while building skills, confidence, and community connections. Don't miss out her project 🧵 

Bibhusha Karki is supporting the ageing Nepali community through  by reducing isolation and helping older people access support and empowerment 🤝 

These students and their projects are a powerful reminder that the social economy continues to grow through purpose-driven innovation and community leadership, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the talent, creativity, and determination of these emerging changemakers  🌍
