This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and it’s an important reminder that mental health isn’t a niche topic — it’s something that affects every one of us, every day, in ways we often don’t talk about.
As a Mental Health First Aider, I’m trained to recognise the signs of poor mental wellbeing, offer initial support, and guide someone towards the right kind of help. It’s not about having all the answers — it’s about listening without judgement, creating space for honest conversations, and making sure people don’t feel alone when things get heavy.
Whether you’re self‑employed, part of a team, or leading one, mental health matters. Checking in on others matters. And checking in on yourself matters too.
If this week encourages even one person to speak up, reach out, or take a moment to breathe, then it’s already making a difference.
Let’s keep the conversation going — not just this week, but every week.
