Some of the best performing content we've seen this year wasn't particularly polished.
As a social media team, that probably sounds like an odd thing to admit. We spend our time helping businesses communicate professionally, create consistent content and present themselves well online. Naturally, quality matters.
What we've noticed recently, however, is that the posts generating the most meaningful conversations aren't always the ones that look the most carefully crafted.
Quite often they're based on something simple:
• A business owner sharing a challenge they've overcome.
• A lesson learned from working with a client.
• An observation from a networking event.
• A genuine opinion about something happening in their industry.
Those posts feel human because they are human.
In a world where AI can generate endless amounts of content within seconds, personal perspective is becoming increasingly valuable. People want to hear what someone thinks, not simply what technology can produce.
The platform is changing, content creation tools are evolving and new trends appear almost daily. Yet the principle that sits underneath successful business communication remains remarkably consistent. People want to engage with businesses that feel genuine.
Our role isn't to replace that authenticity. It's to help busy business owners make more time for it by taking away some of the pressure that comes with planning, creating and managing content consistently.
