I’ve got a completely unjustified belief in myself that I could do any hobby well if I gave it a go. And, well, it’s just simply not true. But I won’t let that stop me 🙃
Crafts I’ve tried and haven’t included because I lost patience with them: mosaic, embroidery, cross stitch, macrame, ANY household DIY project, upcycling furniture, floristry, jewellery making, and probs more that I’ve forgotten.

So, if you need a woman who really will give any project a go (crafty, business, or otherwise) with the confidence of a mediocre underqualified man, I’m your gal 💪

Shoutout to the lovely Jo @ French Knots Craft Studio for teaching me half of the featured hobbies and of course to Pinterest for feeding my crafting obsession.

How time flies when you're knackered

NEW WEBSITE 📣 A Friday afternoon whilst entertaining my feral kids who won’t stop fighting feels like as good a time as any to launch my new website, right?

It isn’t perfect, but it’s finished (I think) and honestly the branding by 😍 was too good to let my perfectionism get in the way of showing it off.

If there’s something you NEED to be consistent with in your own business, but you just
CAN’T.
BLOODY.
MANAGE.
IT…

My advice is usually either:

🔍 find the bottle neck, the blocker, the reason that stops you time & time again, and work on implementing a fix for that specific problem

💅 or outsource it so you don’t have to bother

🙋‍♀️ For me, consistency with my own socials is the problem. I used to post 3 x per day across platforms for years running my product business, and when I closed that business I lost the rhythm. I stopped living for the camera, which although overall has been a wonderful thing, it’s caused a block.
❌ The blocker = there are no decent pics of me/my day/my life/my work

📸 Determined to tackle it on my own, I polished off my trusty tripod, stuck some slap on, and filled up my camera roll. Haven’t been through them all yet but so far it’s looking like a brand shoot for Northern Power Garms instead of Girl Friday and I’m not mad about it 😌

"TAKE SOME PICTURES!" Sarah, a photographer, yelling at me, not a photographer, at our coworking sesh this week 😅

On a serious note though, this pain au chocolat was MASSIVE. Definitely bigger than a banana, although I didn't have one for scale unfortunately (IYKYK).

If you too would also like a massive pastry every other Wednesday and to eat some frogs (be productive) with other lovely people who are also eating frogs and pastries, we'd love to see you at our next coworking session! Bubble Room, Stanley Square, Sale - every other Wednesday 10-12.

The phrase Eat The Frog refers to doing the hardest thing, or the thing you're procrastinating about the most... first, and getting it out of the way! Sometimes being around other people who are also eating frogs makes them a bit easier to digest 😉

After sharing every nook & cranny of my life online for 3 years running Mum Uniform... The second I quit the biz, I quit social media.

Frankly, I’d just had enough of living my life for the lens (apart from the odd dabble on TT 👀).

But these days, to run any sort of business, I at least need some 'sign of life' 🪦

Although word of mouth has served me well so far, it's not exactly the most solid business growth strategy, is it 🙃

It’s my birthday this week, and I’ve already been told off twice for ‘trying to control everything’ and spoiling any surprises.. 😅 But delegation is a skill, arguably one I’ve not mastered when it comes to home life.
But when it comes to business, it’s a skill you’ve got to learn to embrace. Otherwise your business will never grow.
You. Cannot. Do. Everything. (No matter how much you’d like to believe you can).
If you’re ready to focus on doing the fun stuff in your business, and the stuff you’re the best at… maybe this is your sign to let go a little 😉
