Our Abersoch story ⛵️
If you’ve seen the footage of us welcoming athletes at and partying on the beach with , then you may be interested to know about our connection to Abersoch 🏴
Our founder spent a lot of time here growing up. In the 1960s when the village was still a well kept secret, Toria’s grandfather John bought a small plot of land on the hill. Now 99 years old, John tells the story like this;
‘One summer during a rainy day, we saw a faded for sale notice in an estate agent’s window. I made an enquiry only to be told that they had no plots for sale in Abersoch. The clerk was very surprised when I pointed out the faded notice. It was a ‘pig’s ear’ with a cesspit in the middle! Undeterred, we bought it. Much DIY work later, the ‘pig’s ear’ became a silk purse. The rest, as they say, is history.’
Three generations later, John and his sons’ names are emblazoned on the championship boards at the South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club, and Abersoch is a source of inspiration for the agency. Toria continues her grandfather’s legacy by sharing the beach with her ‘crew,’ the VauHaus family. She still speaks with him in sailor metaphors ⚓️
