What’s Changing for Care Workers & Care Providers with Tier 2 Sponsor Licence (SOC 6135 & 6136)?:

1. No more sponsorship for New Overseas Applicants
as of 22 July 2025. Employers can no longer issue Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) for care worker and senior care worker roles to individuals applying from outside the UK

2. Transition Period Ends in 2028:

- Entry clearance (from overseas): fully closed from 22 July 2025 onward.
- In‑country switching or extensions allowed only until 22 July 2028, and only if the applicant:
