Fancy a chat?

Having worked with well over 10,000 small or aspiring business owners over the past 10 years, I've learned that not every business needs a consultant. I'm not trying to do myself out of work here, but often just a quick chat is all it takes to get things moving in the right direction.

That's why I offer a free 20-minute introductory chat. We'll talk about your business, your marketing and social media challenges, and what you're hoping to achieve. If you then think that you would benefit from some further guidance from me - we can talk through exactly how that may work. If not, I can point you in the direction of others that may be able to help.

If you'd like an informal discussion feel free to get in touch or use the link in my comments to book a time.

Nearly 80% of UK businesses are using AI in their day-to-day operations, yet few are using it meaningfully.

This session is designed to change that.

Join us at the bet365 Stadium next Friday, 26 June for Big Business Breakfast: Embracing AI in the Workplace.

With limited tickets remaining, this is your chance to hear directly from the businesses putting AI into practice at scale.

You’ll see how leading organisations are moving beyond experimentation - where most AI initiatives stall - and how to identify the opportunities that genuinely drive value.

All this while enjoying a cooked breakfast and networking opportunities with fellow business leaders.

STOCKPORT MARKET PLANTERS ADVERT

We're looking for someone to help us look after our planters

Stockport Market has been at the heart of this town for centuries, and keeping it looking welcoming and well cared for matters to us. The planters around the market are a small but important part of it, they are one of the first things people notice, and when they're looking their best, they make a real difference to the whole feel of the place.
We are now looking for a local organisation, group, or individual to take on the care and maintenance of our 10 planters on a contract basis. If you have a genuine love of gardening, a good eye for seasonal planting, and the reliability to keep things ticking over through all weathers and all seasons, we would really love to hear from you.
What the role involves
The 10 planters, four at the front of the market square, four along the market mile, and two at the Churchgate need regular attention throughout the year. That means seasonal planting, watering during dry spells, weeding, tidying up, replacing anything that's not doing well, and generally keeping on top of things so that the displays always look cared for.
We are not looking for perfection on day one, we are looking for someone dependable, proactive, and proud of the work they do. The kind of person, organisation, or group who'll notice when something needs attention and just get it sorted, without needing to be chased.
Who we'd love to hear from
This opportunity is open to anyone with the right skills and commitment, including sole traders, small gardening businesses, community gardening groups, social enterprises, supported employment projects, or local horticultural organisations.
You don't need to be a large organisation. What matters to us is that you're reliable, you genuinely care about quality, and you can work safely in a busy public environment.
A few things that would be good to know
We'll ask applicants to tell us a bit about their experience, their ideas for planting across the seasons, and how they'd manage the practical side of things, watering, maintenance schedules, public safety while working, and so on. You'll also need to hold appropriate insurance and have health and safety arrangements in place.
If you have a portfolio of previous work, references, or examples of similar projects you've taken on, those are always helpful, but we are just as interested in your enthusiasm and your approach as we are in credentials.
How to apply
We've put together a simple application form which covers everything we need to know. There are no trick questions, just a chance for you to tell us who you are, what you've done, and how you would approach this. You can download the form from us directly or request a copy by getting in touch.
If you would like to come and have a look at the planters in person before you apply, just let us know, we are happy to arrange a site visit and talk things through.
