From a complex multi-component setup that needed to be transformed into a fully integrated portable system…

We partnered with at to take their industry-leading motion capture and analysis technology and create version 2! A compact, green ready solution built for real-world performance.

The challenge was to replace all the separate components, lighting, and complex angle requirements with a durable all-in-one system that delivers professional results anywhere! Indoors and definitely outdoors, even in temperatures up to 50°C.

From industrial design and thermal engineering to manufacturing, certification, supply chain management, and UK import logistics, we not only delivered the entire product journey but we completed and obtained CE, UKCA & FCC certifications!

A great example of how thoughtful engineering and industrial design can make advanced technology more accessible in the real world.

More and more, our clients don’t just want a design.

They want the product to be built and handed back to them, ready to go!

That’s why we’ve invested in a dedicated workshop space for every member of the team! Their own bench, their own area to prototype, assemble and test. The full iterative loop, under one roof.

We have some more equipment on the way.
Mostly for 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

Product development isn’t a straight line!

Over the past year, we’ve been working on one of the most challenging and rewarding briefs we’ve taken on …

A product designed to help free you from your phone. A simple idea, but incredibly complex to execute.

How do you make an electronic device that looks and feels like a pebble? It needs to be compact, smooth, every function considered, no space wasted.

There have been many prototypes, material tests, iterations and samples that were almost right but didn’t hit the mark. Every version taught us something the last one didn’t.

This video is us opening what we hope is the final pre-production sample.

Team npd studio are visiting The Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre in Manchester!

Did you know Graphene was discovered in Manchester AND is Nobel Prize-winning?!

It’s quietly transforming how materials perform across almost every industry!

When introduced into other materials as a 2D additive, it can make them stronger, lighter, more flexible, more thermally conductive - without adding meaningful weight. It doesn’t replace materials, it supercharges them.

And it’s showing up everywhere:
Aerospace - lighter structural components, wing skins at half the weight.
Automotive - stronger, more flexible materials for lightweighting.
Energy - next-generation batteries and supercapacitors. Construction - graphene-enhanced concrete with significantly improved strength. Electronics - faster, thinner, more efficient devices.

We’ve officially moved to our new office in Salmesbury, Preston!

Very exciting to see the new team area and the upstairs workshop! We have so much space 😭👏

We’ve already welcomed clients in for consultation meetings, prototype progress updates, had discovery calls in our new office and ofcourse planning a studio opening!

This is a big moment in our journey and we’re so grateful for this milestone!
