I came across this book a few years back now about the Hood and Bismark. Today I came across these scale miniatures models of the two battleships. Tommy told me in my book Tommy's story how he had a look on board the Hood one day in 1940 before going on to Africa and was so impressed with its big guns. It didn't stop the Bismark sinking her later in the war with nearly all lost on board and Bismark getting sunk almost immediately afterwards with same fate as the Hood for its sailors.

Was this truck like the one Tommy use to drive in the 1930's. His had foot gears only and no clutch. The gears had no neutral position and there were only two gears, a top gear and a lower gear. the wagon could only start in top gear. Before starting the engine, Tommy had to jack the front end of the wagon up and position a block of wood between the foot pedals. It was imperative that it was placed here; otherwise the wagon would not move of

AJS motorcycle, this is a 1952 model. Tommy rode an earlier 350cc version of this bike as a army dispatch rider the last six months of the war.

A great occasion when the War horse visited Tommy in the Military home he lived in the final years of his life.
