๐Ÿข "We're carrying out major works on the lift..."

But what does that actually mean?

When it comes to lifts, "major works" is often misunderstood. It doesn't describe the engineering involved โ€“ it simply refers to the scale and cost of a project that requires formal consultation.

Our latest article explains the difference between repairs, modernisation and full replacement, helping property managers and leaseholders understand what's really behind the term and how to make informed decisions.

Happy retirement, Paul ๐Ÿ’›

Today weโ€™re celebrating Paul Newton, Director at ILECS, as he begins his retirement.

Paul started working in the lift industry in 1979, where he completed a technical apprenticeship program with a global lift company. After working his way up in a variety of positions, he then joined ILECS in 2008 as a lift consultant.

Paul has played an important role in the business, bringing experience, knowledge and steady leadership to the team, our clients and the wider lift and escalator industry.

From supporting independent lift consultancy work to helping building owners, property managers and facilities management teams make informed decisions, Paulโ€™s contribution has been felt across many areas of ILECS.

A huge thank you for everything you have brought to the business over the years.

Wishing you a very happy retirement from everyone at ILECS ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re pleased to welcome Emily Gardiner back to ILECS after her maternity leave, following the arrival of her little girl, Violet.

Excited to welcome new team members to ILECS ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re pleased to introduce Ellie Ketteringham and Shanie Fairclough, who join us as Operations Support Assistants and Charlotte Biggs, who joins us as Assistant OneVision Account Manager.

As ILECS continues to grow as an independent lift consultancy, both roles will help support the wider team, our clients and the continued development of our lift management, lift inspections, lift maintenance contracts, lift modernisation and escalator consultancy services.

Weโ€™re looking forward to seeing them settle into their new roles and become part of the team behind the work we do for building owners, property managers and facilities management teams across the UK.

Welcome to ILECS, Ellie, Shanie and Charlotte ๐Ÿ’›

Is your lift maintenance contract really giving you the right level of cover? ๐Ÿ‘€

Our latest industry insight looks at why regular lift maintenance matters, how the right lift maintenance package can improve reliability, and why the cheapest contract is not always the most cost-effective option long term.

For building owners, property managers and facilities management teams, a well-structured lift maintenance plan can help reduce breakdowns, support compliance and prevent unexpected repair costs.

In the blog, our lift consultants break down what to consider when reviewing your lift maintenance contract, from usage and environment to equipment condition and future risk.

๐Ÿ‘ Proud to support Truro Hockey Club

At ILECS, we're proud to be sponsoring Truro Hockey Club as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and grassroots sport.

This partnership is especially meaningful as it came from one of our own team. Through an internal initiative encouraging colleagues to nominate clubs and causes close to them, Ged Millward put Truro Hockey Club forward, recognising the fantastic role it plays in bringing people together through sport.

While we work with building owners, property managers and facilities management teams across the UK, supporting the communities our team are part of is just as important to us.

We're delighted to play a small part in supporting the club and wish everyone at Truro Hockey Club the very best for the season ahead. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘

Our lift is problematic. How can ILECS help? ๐Ÿ‘€

A lift can become unreliable for many reasons, from ageing equipment and harsh operating environments to misuse, vandalism or insufficient lift maintenance.

As independent lift consultants, ILECS can help identify the root cause of ongoing lift issues through condition surveys, maintenance regime reviews and assessments of call out records.

Once the cause is understood, we can work with building owners, property managers and facilities management teams to create a practical remedial plan, helping to improve lift reliability and support a continued, reliable service.

If your lift is becoming increasingly problematic, independent lift consultancy advice can help you understand what needs to happen next.
