Let’s take a moment for our event planning queen 👑

After our WP celebration event post we have been mulling over what an amazing array of local employers the WP team have ...

However, We also can't help but feel that we should also take a moment for the one who carried the load, pulled the strings and made the Work Placement Celebration event really come to life!

Not only did she keep the whole thing on track but she worked closely with our incredible catering students to make sure Refined @ Vision West Notts and their buffet absolutely delivered on the day.

From perfect planning to those finishing touches... it’s safe to say this event had her stamp all over it. 🙌

We love a team effort but sometimes you’ve got to shout out the person who holds it all together behind the scenes.

Forever our Event Queen, Mrs.S.R! 🫶

Can’t believe the 12th of May was a whole month ago already!? 🤯

However, what we absolutely CAN believe though… is just how epic our students and employer partners are!! 🙌✨

One month on from our Work Placement Celebration and we’re still buzzing (literally, there was a rogue wasp doing laps of the room that only about three of us seemed to notice thank goodness! 🐝😂)

The sun was shining, the buffet was top tier (big love to our Level 3 Catering students – you smashed it! 👏) and we had a fab chance to make the most of the outdoor space networking before speeches and certificate handovers got underway. 🌞🥪

It was so good to see employers personally recognising our students and sharing such positive feedback… some students have even been offered/secured jobs off the back of their placements! 💼🎉

Even Diane Booth, one of our senior leaders, couldn’t help but shout about it:
“It was great to see employers presenting certificates to our learners that had been on work experience with them. The feedback from all the employers was overwhelmingly positive, with examples of some learners gaining employment. A big thank you to the work placement co-ordinators for organising this event and to our level 3 catering students for providing and excellent lunch – everyone was impressed.”

Couldn’t agree more, Diane. 👏 Here’s to more wins and more real world success stories! 🚀

Teddy’s been catching waves in Cornwall this week ... sandy paws, sea breeze and (of course) a well-deserved ice cream after all that adventure! 🐾🍦

When he’s not making a splash, Teddy’s busy supporting his human supporting the Sports & UPS students here at Vision West Notts.
But Teddy wanted to let you in on a little secret…

🐾 The Animal Care students at VWNC get hands on with real animals every week whether that is out on local farms, farm parks, animal care businesses local to the college and community in trusted placements and also at the college’s own animal care unit. It’s not just about learning in the classroom, it’s about building confidence, skills and a career you can be proud of!

Teddy says: “If you love animals as much as I love ice cream, this course is your next adventure!” 🐶🍦
