Our crews were at Cowdray Polo Tournament this weekend with hot and humid weather conditions.
With a long and illustrious history, Cowdray Park Polo Club has been the home of the British Open for the Cowdray Gold Cup since 1956. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within Viscount Cowdray’s 16,500-acre estate in West Sussex, the game of polo has been played at Cowdray for over a century.

During our event cover for Goodwood FOS, we also covered both evening parties. One for the GRRC on Thursday and the other for Goodwood’s invited guests on Saturday. This was a very difficult firework display to plan for, with such dry conditions, with extremely high risks and hazards. With a total of six appliances, including two water carriers we monitored, liaised with our control and attacked any hotspots with a pro active and professional approach. This was not only challenging but very tough for the crews involved.

As we come to our last day at Goodwood Festival of Speed, working in temperatures of 34 degrees plus, in tough conditions. It has been an absolute pleasure providing fire cover and keeping the Public, competitors and staff safe.
Our professional crews have been providing cover in numerous roles from 3 x refuelling areas, daytime and evening fire works and providing fire safety cover across the site.
We have provided 30 Firefighters and appliances, not only covering the event, but also the event build up and breakdown.

Local summer fete on a bank holiday Monday. One of our trucks was out as part of the fete.
The kids loved trying on some of the equipment and asking questions about being a firefighter 🚒 🔥
