If particular holidays or awareness days are RELEVANT to your business they're a great way to start a conversation, post relatable content and increase your engagement.⁠

But not every one of them - is a prompt for you to jump on a bandwagon that doesn't belong to you.

Only create content for the days that fit with you and your business.

Ok, that's a bit harsh but bear with me ..

Over 4 billion people have social media accounts, and most them will never buy from your business or even know that your business exists.

Why?

Because the majority of people in the whole wide World - are NOT your customers.

As a small business, your target customers equal your target niche.

Do you actually know who your target customer is?
Could you tell me exactly who they are?

Seriously, whats their name, where do they live? How old are they? Do they have a family? Do they have a pet? What type of work do they do? Whats their income or education level? What are they interested in? Whats p*ssing them off right now?

I mean don't actually tell me because that could get weird but you ought to have a few 'personas' in mind when marketing your products or services, so that you are consistently reaching out directly to them in a way that aligns with your brand.

(PS. I have 4, and their names are Laura, Nicola, Dave and Andy.)

📣📣 YOU ARE A SMALL BUSINESS, NOT A BIG BRAND - YOUR FOCUS SHOULD BE ON YOUR EXISTING COMMUNITY NOT ON GROWING YOUR FOLLOWERS 📣📣

Better to have 100 followers, who give a sh&t then 10,000 who never engage and are not your target audience.

Invest your time and/or money in your existing community first 👊

It’s not your product that’s the problem hun, it’s YOU.

⭐️ YOU know your make, product or service is great
⭐️ YOU have fab images
⭐️ YOU post regularly
⭐️ YOU use all the right hashtags
⭐️ YOU are doing all the right things

But no one else seems to give a sh&t, am I right?

That’s because YOU are not showing up in your content. People don’t know who YOU are.

So,
