Day in the life of me.
The cleaner.
On my day off… apparently.

Early start. Standard.
But instead of office cleaning, I go to the gym.
Balance, right?

Then I have to heat the van because Ian forgot.
Because burst pipes are not part of today’s plan.

Pancakes for breakfast — because everything needs balance.

Then I go to see my dad’s grave.
After that, Mum and my brother.
Coffee. Always coffee.

Food shopping with Mum.
It’s my day off, so obviously I’m catching up on admin.
Because when you run your own business, there is no day off.

Quick stop to see if I suit a fringe.
Very midlife crisis.
Just trying to feel in control of something in my life.

School runs.
Taxi Mum again.
Homework supervisor.
Referee.
Chef.

Night-time routine — aka the girls “winding down”… eventually.
Kyra usually settles pretty well.
Kezi? Still bouncing off the walls until ten.

And finally…
A book in bed.
The Thursday Murder Club.

Because if I can’t control the chaos,
I can at least solve a murder before I fall asleep.

Then three a.m…
Kezi wakes up ready to start the day.

And I’m just lying there wondering if
I’m undiagnosed bipolar,
having a midlife crisis,
or just a mum who desperately needs a nap.

Last Friday, my beautiful friend Kinga had her world turned upside down. At just 33 years old, she received the heartbreaking news that she has stage 3 breast cancer.

Over the next 12 months, Kinga will undergo chemotherapy and multiple surgeries, meaning she’ll be unable to work. Kinga and her partner, Tico, are both self-employed, and this is their sole income. This devastating diagnosis will place an enormous financial strain on their family — especially as they continue caring for their two young boys during an already overwhelming time.

Kinga is one of the strongest and most determined people I know, and she deserves to focus on healing — not worrying about how the bills will be paid.
