91% of the world’s HIV-positive children live in Africa.

Global brands have the potential of immense influence over social behaviour and the education and battle against s*xually transmitted diseases throughout the world, especially in the most vulnerable and underdeveloped areas.

In areas such as sub-Saharan Africa, where the highest proportion of HIV is recorded, the use of condoms by some in steady relationships is considered to show lack of trust resulting in women putting their lives at great risk.

Presenting an element of fun into the experience, where the condom can enhance the s*xual experience rather than dull it, will be a significant influence in promoting the message of safety and protecting loved ones.

This concept for Michelin Condoms is a shamelessly playful treatment of a long established and recognised brand that, despite its distinct contrast, carries an identical and poignant message to that of Michelin’s traditional concern, one of safety.

Whilst it’s no secret that many people consider condoms to be a passion killer - robbing the excitement and spontaneity of the moment - and probably muting the intensity, the aim of Michelin Condoms is not to just champion ‘safe s*x’ but make for better s*x altogether, creating fun whilst injecting some ‘vrooooom’ into the moment through the power of humour.
