Not every steel window restoration needs to involve removing the frames.

Using laser cleaning, paint can be stripped from Crittall windows while they remain in place, reducing disruption and avoiding the need for blasting, chemical dipping, or removing the glazing in many cases.

The process leaves a clean surface ready for preparation and a decorator’s finish, helping to preserve the original windows while simplifying the restoration process.

Sentimental furniture deserves a careful touch. With veneer only 0.6mm thick, abrasive stripping could easily cut straight through it — so laser cleaning was the safest way to remove the old finish while preserving the original timber beneath.

lovely transformation on this 150+ year-old family dresser in Merriott.

The client wanted the layers of paint carefully removed while keeping the green detailing within the recessed areas, as she plans to redecorate and give the piece a new lease of life.

Using laser cleaning allowed us to strip the paint with precision while leaving the timber smooth to the touch, avoiding the surface damage that can come with more aggressive methods.

🍺 Got a “pub room”?

Many period properties have that one room with dark beams and plenty of character, but over time it can start to feel a little gloomy.

This project was carried out just down the road from us in East Lambrook, where we used laser cleaning to carefully lighten the timber, helping the room feel brighter and more open while preserving the character that makes these old cottages so special.

Today we used the IBIX system to carefully strip this furniture set back to bare timber, removing the old dark finish and bringing the natural grain back to life.

Once blasted, the pieces were hand sanded smooth as per the client’s request, leaving them ready for refinishing and a completely new lease of life.

A great example of how abrasive restoration can transform timber without losing its character.
