OmniSponsor As former grassroots coaches, the founders of OmniSponsor loved running a team. What they didn’t enjoy quite so much was looking for funding.

The thrill of matchday, seeing the progress in training, the joy of helping develop the next generation of sports people. Getting a shirt sponsor was hard enough and even then it would never quite cover everything. Kit, equipment, pitch hire, league and tournament fees, award trophies, the list was endless and finding ways to pay for it all was a slog. Parents always tried to help when they could.

Sweepstakes, raffles, monthly subs. But organising these things took time and asking people to constantly put their hand in their pocket for little in return never sat well. The Thunderbolts stood together with Harborough Town Football Club this morning to applaud a young life that was taken far too soon.

Harrison Thompson of Thurmaston Magpies passed away last week following a short battle with cancer aged just 13.
