It’s taken me an age to write this post. It’s taken me even longer to get my ducks in a row, but, I said didn’t I? I said, this work is too important not to carry on.
And here we are, about to carry on 4 years after that initial fundraising event in The Tiger Inn.
Before I get into the nitty gritty, let me tell you whats happened and what’s changed moving forward.
Events like this, although beyond the word important, take time and effort. Effort is no problem, I live for this stuff, I’d die on a hill for it, but time I was limited on, especially when there was no financial support.
And, I’ll be transparent as I can, it’s not about the money. Never was. But, there has to be a balance doesn’t there? As a director I was incredibly limited on what I could and couldn’t pay myself, mainly I couldn’t which was fine for those two incredibly successful, award winning years, but then… real life, as it does, gave me a few clouts.
Making it all a bit tricky. So, the CIC ceased as did the events, as did my drive.
However, that hill I’m prepared to die on, I’m still on it and I’m still fighting for you girls and I’m still wondering why there’s not enough being done in my beloved valleys. Don’t get me wrong, there’s progress. I’ve been to some fantastic events and provisions but I’m missing the space that Wonderful Women held for us.
So, I’ve come up with a solution that I think will still create magic and pay its way a bit.
The events? They won’t change, other than they’ll be back!!! Monthly, three women, a room full of accessible magic, but I’m adding in a networking element, on another day, another vibe, another price bracket, because I think Merthyr’s missing it.
My personal circumstances have changed around four zillion times since that last event in October 24 and, believe me, I’ve spent a long old time debating on whether this is the right move for me and the girls but you know what, my three daughters need to know that rooms like this exist and they need to know their Mam fort for them.
Merthyr? Shall we level up?
To be precise shall we level up on Friday September 25th at Haus Of Skin?
This won’t be a traditional Wonderful Women event, this will be the launch’s where I’ll talk about the plans, the venues, the opportunities we’ll have a glass of fizz, we’ll get some skin info, we’ll come together ready to change the trajectory of how we level up in Merthyr?
