What a morning! ⚡🤘

We had Jimmy Lees hosting a live recording of The Business by The Red Radio in collaboration with Barclays Eagle Labs, bringing real founder conversations into the room instead of the studio.

Big thanks to Jimmy for hosting, and to Carl Harris (Harris Brick Safety Systems), Imran Anwar (Alt Labs), and Sharon Braithwaite (Barclays Eagle Labs) for being so open about what building a business really looks like behind the scenes.

Carl shared how his business started from pen to paper after a life changing injury, focusing on safety in construction and preventing avoidable tragedies on site. He also spoke about how the Tees Valley Labs programme helped him massively, and how that journey has now taken his work international.

Imran spoke about Alt Labs and building with founders for founders, creating the kind of support he wished existed when he started out. He also touched on the importance of backing young people into real opportunities as industries shift with AI and changing skills demands.

Sharon highlighted the support available through Barclays Eagle Labs, from early ideas right through to scaling up, and how much of it starts with simply having the conversation.

It was amazing to have a room full of people genuinely invested in building things here in Teesside!
