Solo trip to Stack today, enjoying the sun along with a beer and a chicken gyros.
I took the car to get repaired in Middlesbrough today. The mechanic asked what I was going to do while the car was being repaired. I mentioned I was going to Stack to grab some food and relax in the sun.
Like every single person I’m sure has experienced, I got the classic, “You’re going there alone? Why would you do that?”
One thing someone told me the other week was that the only person who’s constant in your life is yourself.
Which made me really think about being single, having people make comments to me like earlier today, and always feeling judged for doing things solo.
One thing I accepted is it’s okay to do things solo sometimes.
If you enjoy something, you don’t have to have someone to do it with. We all know not having a partner makes these things harder.
I had people message me saying they’d love to come to our events, but none of their friends are single, and they’re not confident enough to come alone. 80 per cent of people who attend our events come solo. If you’re thinking of coming but don’t have anyone to come with, please get yourself a ticket. You’ll have the best experience.
I’ve got plenty of friends and family to do things with. I accepted that, even with the judgement, it’s good to do things solo sometimes. I started the dating club solo, with nobody else helping. When I look at what’s happened since starting the business, I’m beyond proud of my achievement, knowing I started it all solo.
Running the dating club, I can relate to everyone who attends and mentions similar stories to me about doing things solo and sometimes dealing with the judgement that comes with being single. ❤️❤️ Xx
