New National Minimum Wage rates are live from today!!!

The latest increases are now in force — and they will impact payroll, budgets, and compliance for many employers.

Even small oversights can lead to costly mistakes.

Are you confident you've changed what's required?

👉 See the new rates and what you need to do next:

Compliance isn’t just the headline rate — unpaid pre‑shift duties, travel time or uniform deductions can all bring someone below the legal minimum.

⏳ 42 days to go… is your business ready for the April employment law changes?

From 6 April 2026, several employment law updates will take effect across the UK. While some may seem small, they will impact payroll, policies, and how confidently managers can respond when situations arise.

What’s changing?

👉 Day-one Statutory Sick Pay — SSP will be payable from day one and the lower earnings threshold will be removed, meaning more employees will qualify.

👉 Day-one family leave — Paternity leave and unpaid parental leave will become day-one rights, so requests may arise earlier than expected.

👉 Stronger whistleblowing protections — a timely reminder to review policies and reporting routes.

👉 Increased collective redundancy consultation risk — higher protective awards mean getting consultation right is more important than ever.

If you are part of our Partnership Programme, we will be in touch shortly to review your documentation and ensure you are ready.

If not, and you would like support with policy reviews, updates, new documentation, or ad-hoc HR advice, we are here to help.

📩 Message us or get in touch to talk through your readiness ahead of April.

April 2026 employment law changes – what employers should know

From 6 April 2026, the first major set of changes under the Employment Rights Act 2025 comes into force.

These changes will affect things like:
• Statutory Sick Pay (now payable from day one)
• Paternity and parental leave becoming day-one rights
• Redundancy consultation risk increasing
• How sexual harassment concerns are handled
• Stronger enforcement through the new Fair Work Agency

April may feel a long way off, but the months between now and then are an important time to pause and think about how these changes might affect your business.

We’ve put together a clear, practical guide for employers that explains:

what’s changing in April 2026
what it means in day-to-day terms
what you should be thinking about now

If you’ve got questions about how this applies to your organisation, or you just want to sense-check what to focus on over the next few months, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

It would be easy to assume that because the Employment Rights Act 2025 is being phased in over a number of years, there’s nothing urgent to do yet.
