Last year I saw my neighbours lighting candles outside for .

Even though we’d never spoken before, seeing me watching from a distance they beckoned me to come - Diwali is for everyone they said.

I’ve since come to understand that Diwali is not just about festivities; it's also a time for introspection and gratitude for the blessings and positive changes we all wish to see in our lives.

This time last week I was at the Lagos State Government’s School Safety Summit, honouring the invitation via Dr Bisi Alabi to delivery a keynote speech which focused not just on both the importance and challenges of the internetl for students and the wider community, but also the need to take a Psychologically Informed Approach that stems from values and purpose.

I’m very much looking forward to honouring the Lagos State Government’s Safe Schools Lagos invitation to speak at the School Safety Chill Out this Tuesday.

It will be great to share on a Mosaic Approach and a Psychological Informed Approach to Stakeholder Safety and Harmony in Education whilst learning from others as well.

Friday was International Day of the Girl Child focused on promoting girls' rights, highlighting gender inequalities and addressing discrimination and abuse suffered by girls around the globe.

It’s a shame that there is a need for a day with such a focus, but the realise of the world we live in and the hopes for a better tomorrow makes it’s befitting that this week I was invited to the launch of the OU Centre for Protecting Women Online by ElsaMarie D'Silva

I look forward to the day when we no longer need such initiatives and we can simple celebrate girls in the beauty of who and what they are. I'm pleased that the The Open University is developing an initiative to help us to reach such a place.
