Hi all,
We hope you’re all well.
We know it’s been a while and we’ve been a bit quiet, although the group has continued to grow.
There were quite a few sessions where multiple places were booked and no-one turned up. Which was disheartening considering the time we have put in producing resources and buying in cake etc.
We have continued to work with and support our local business community in the background, with some 1-1 private sessions.
However, we’ve been juggling various things and haven’t had the time to commit to our monthly sessions.
Due to our other commitments any future sessions would need to be held on a Tuesday.
Something we would really like to have a brainstorming session on is business utilities rates, in particular water rates.
We’ve spoken to some other business owners who are having various issues with the supplier Business Stream, with whom we have also had problems.
As a result, we’d love to hold a forum to find out how increasing water rates are affecting local businesses, with the aim of engaging both local councillors and MPs (as our networking group covers various areas in Kirklees).
We could invite them to the initial meeting or take the feedback from the initial forum and invite them to a follow up.
