Techserv turns 40 this year — four decades of British engineering, innovation, and partnership.
To mark the milestone, we’re sharing a few photos from the archives. This one shows a plate processing machine we built for the British Steel Scunthorpe plate mill — one of four systems we supplied to support heavy‑duty production at a site that’s now sadly gone. It’s a reminder of the scale of projects we’ve delivered and the industries we’ve helped shape.
From those early installations to today’s CNC plasma, gas and waterjet cutting systems, one thing hasn’t changed:
every Techserv machine is designed, built and supported here in the UK.
Over the last 40 years we’ve grown from a small engineering team into a trusted manufacturer serving fabrication shops, shipyards, steel processors, universities, and global industrial clients. Our machines are built using locally sourced components wherever possible, and powered by our own PC‑based control system — developed in‑house, refined over decades, and trusted for reliability in the toughest environments.
As we celebrate this anniversary, we want to thank the customers, engineers, suppliers and partners who’ve been part of the journey. The next chapter is already underway, and we’re proud to keep flying the flag for British manufacturing.
