What does a typical day look like for Lisa at Pepperdog?
Yesterday was a pretty good example… 😂
👋 Seeing the kids off to school.
☕️ Coffee. Obviously.
✅ Booking in three new projects (yay!).
✅ Briefing a couple of freelancers on upcoming projects.
✅ Designing bonfire safety materials in six different languages.
😬 Trying to convince InDesign that Arabic really does need to read right to left, while some Punjabi characters have apparently decided to identify as little circles.
✅ Email. Design. Email. Design. Email.
💬 A quick chat with a printer about paper stocks, quantities, gold foil and whether something can possibly be delivered by Friday.
🐶 Checking in with the Heads of Security. No emails answered. No design work completed. One suspicious squirrel reported. Both now asleep on duty.
✅ Designing a training poster for a heating company.
✅ Website design amends for a digital agency.
✅ Checking approximately 847 PDFs before they go anywhere near a printing press.
✅ A “quick” client amendment that is never quite as quick as the word quick suggests.
😳 Remembering there’s also a Pepperdog rebrand and new website to finish.
☕️ More coffee.
😳 Wondering how it’s suddenly 5pm.
✅ Closing the Mac.
✅ Opening the Mac again because I’ve remembered something.
🥱 Working until 10pm because I got carried away again.
Some days I’m designing government reports. Other days it’s fire service campaigns, websites, presentations, signage, print or something completely unexpected landing in my inbox.
There’s quite a lot happening behind the scenes at the moment too. A new Pepperdog brand, a new website and a much clearer direction for the business are all coming in November which I genuinely can’t wait to share.
Same Pepperdog. Just a bit more grown up.
Well… mostly.
