If you're a defibrillator guardian - the person in your community, organisation or business with responsibility for a defibrillator - here are the three things we want you to do this Check Your Defib Week.

1️⃣ Check the battery status - this helps ensure the device will be ready to use
2️⃣ Check the expiry date on the pads - if they've expired they won't work as they should
3️⃣ Check accessibility - is it easy for people to see where the defib is and how they can get hold of it

And, finally, make sure your defibrillator is registered on The Circuit
https://thecircuit.uk/

Registration is free, only takes a few minutes and once a defib is registered. the local ambulance service can see the device within 60 seconds and will be able to direct people to it if there is a cardiac emergency nearby.

As part of last week's Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we were invited by NeuroRocket CIC to deliver a short session, so that Neurodivergent individuals could learn a few First Aid basics in a safe and supportive environment.

Here's instructor Adelle showing attendees how to perform CPR, and explained how an AED works.

This qualification is designed to meet the requirements for people involved in the care of babies and children in Early Years settings or Childminding.

The course incorporates Paediatric First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (Full FPA) with the additional learning modules required to meet the EYFS guidelines for forest, beach, and farm schools, as well as other environments.

This certification is valid for three years and is a recommendation by OFSTED to comply with the Early Years Foundation Stage Document.

If you have recently completed an accredited 2 day Paediatric First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (Full PFA) there is the option to apply for the First Aid for Outdoor Schools add-on.

This is supplementary to the Full PFA and consists of four hours of supported online learning, along with formal assessment.
