With our first full turbine installation now complete at Priestgill Wind Farm 🎉, we’re proud to see the economic impact of our projects making a meaningful difference in the communities and regions that host them. 🌱

As Priestgill progresses towards generating clean power for South Lanarkshire and beyond, the vast majority of construction spend to date has been retained within Scotland, with significant investment flowing directly to businesses close to the site.

This local impact has been strengthened through key partnerships with regional contractors and suppliers, including Principal Contractor RJ McLeod, turbine supplier Nordex and Lockerbie-based Grange Quarry.

Building strong, collaborative relationships with local suppliers is central to how we deliver the critical energy infrastructure Scotland needs.

Supporting communities isn’t just part of what we do - it’s at the heart of how we work 💚

At Muirhall Energy, we’re proud of our ongoing partnership with North West Skye FC, a West Highland amateur football club we’ve supported since 2021 as we work to develop the nearby Glen Ullinish II Wind Farm.

Over the past five years, our development-stage community benefit funding for Glen Ullinish II has provided more than £15,000 to North West Skye FC.

This funding has helped the club continue its vital role in the local community as well as providing equipment, team kits and regular training sessions.

And it’s about much more than just football.

Recently, North West Skye FC put their Uig pitch to great use, hosting a fantastic community fun day packed with games, activities and a raffle. The event brought people together and raised an impressive £1,500+ for Mikey’s Line, a Highland charity providing vital mental health support.

We’re proud to support organisations like North West Skye FC that bring people together and make such a positive difference in their communities.

That’s the kind of community impact we’re proud to be part of 🤝✨

We’re proud to support Crawford Bowling Club with a £2,500 grant through our construction phase funding for the Priestgill Wind Farm.

Crawford Bowling Club plays a key role in fostering an active, inclusive environment for residents of all ages in the local area. This funding will support critical facility enhancements, including ground safety improvements and new outdoor seating for members and visitors.🪑🌱

Our construction stage funding, known as our Initial Investment Fund, is designed to deliver immediate, tangible benefits to local groups during the development and construction phases of our projects, prior to the launch of our long-term operational Community Investment Fund💚

Supporting local communities is at the heart of what we do.💚

Muirhall Energy is proud to have awarded over £2,200 to the 18th Perthshire Scouts group in Bankfoot. Thanks to this funding, a group of young people and volunteers recently enjoyed a fully funded trip to Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Aviemore for a day of outdoor fun.

This grant is part of our ongoing commitment to Perthshire during the development phase of the proposed North Logiealmond Wind Farm. To date, we’re proud to have invested over £38,000 into incredible local initiatives.

Delivering turbine components at this scale is a massive team effort - and collaboration is important in everything we do 🤝

Through our turbine supply contract with Nordex alone, we’re proud to have contributed over £2.5 million directly into Scotland’s economy through local spend, port fees, storage, cranage services and transportation.

As an independent Scottish developer, Muirhall Energy remains deeply committed to maximising local content and creating tangible opportunities across all our projects.

We were pleased to receive feedback from Duneaton Community Trust on the success of their 'Villages in Bloom' initiative funded by a £1,500 award from our Priestgill Wind Farm Initial Investment Fund.🌸

The funding was shared amongst the six villages of Duneaton where over 50 volunteers have worked together to improve their shared spaces.

At the community-owned Coulter Library an overgrown border has been completely transformed with new shrubs and flowers, the first step in a longer term plan to fully restore the building as a welcoming community hub.

Projects like this go far beyond beautifying a local space - they build community confidence and inspire future initiatives. As one volunteer put it:

"This may only be one border, but it represents something much bigger. It demonstrates what is possible when a community works together." 🤝

Priestgill Wind Farm construction phase funding is still available for groups in the Crawford & Elvanfoot and Duneaton community areas.

📸 Looking back on our recent visit to Skye.

Last week, we shared how valuable it was to spend time meeting local groups, organisations and residents, hearing first-hand about the positive impact community funding is having across the island.

Today, we want to shine a light on Minginish, where hard working volunteers are improving the facilities in their local community with the help of funding from Muirhall Energy. 🌿

Growing Minginish received £5,000 to create a sheltered sensory garden and to complete an accessible path around their community hall, ensuring all members of the community can access the area and enjoy all the thoughtfully selected plants and herbs.

Along the road at Carbost Community Shop CIC , the team were delighted to show us around and tell us all the ways they are diversifying to keep this vital local service afloat. With a 60 minute round trip to the next nearest shop, it's so important that these rural communities retain local facilities and we were pleased to be able to donate £2,500 to their running costs.
