🎨 FUN FACT FRIDAY — A SMALL FILE CAN MAKE A BIG IMPRESSION

Did you know a properly created vector logo can be enlarged from business-card size to a vehicle graphic without its lines becoming pixelated? ✨

The secret is mathematics. Vector artwork describes shapes using points, lines and curves, rather than a fixed grid of pixels.

That means its edges can stay crisp as the design grows. A small JPEG or screenshot, however, can become blurred or blocky when enlarged.

For business signs, banners and vehicle branding, the quality of the original artwork matters just as much as the design itself.

🚐✨ ANOTHER ONE THAT LEFT WeDo GRAPHICS THIS WEEK! ✨🚐

It’s certainly been a busy week at WeDo Graphics, and here’s another transformation that’s already headed back out onto the road! 👀

This one went from a straightforward black van to something you’re definitely going to notice — an abstract geometric design combining black, grey and white with those flashes of gold. 🖤🤍💛

And that’s the great thing about vehicle graphics: not every wrap has to advertise a business. Sometimes it’s simply about creating something different, personal and completely unlike everything else on the road.

From subtle graphics and signwriting through to “go on then… cover the whole thing!” 😂 — we love seeing what leaves the workshop.

🎨 FUN FACT FRIDAY — EVEN LETTERS NEED PERSONAL SPACE! 🔤😄

Did you know designers adjust the gaps between individual pairs of letters?

It’s called kerning—and sometimes the finishing touch to a design is changing the space where there’s absolutely nothing! 👀

Pairs such as “To” or “Wa” can need different spacing because of their shapes. The aim is to make the lettering look balanced, rather than simply giving every letter an identical gap.

Think of it as seating guests at a wedding: some need bringing closer together, while others need a little breathing room! 😂

On a business sign, vehicle graphic or logo, those small adjustments can help the finished lettering look carefully considered and professional. ✨

From a plain, run-of-the-mill plant trailer to something that’s now ready to turn up on site looking the part! 🚧✨

This one has been getting the full treatment, with Chapter 8 compliant high-visibility reflective markings fitted to help improve visibility and give it a much smarter, more professional finish.

There’s still a little bit of work going on, which is why the workshop currently looks like the reflective-vinyl fairy has exploded across the floor. 😂🟨🟥

You might also notice something fairly important is missing… the rear ramp! 👀

Don’t panic — we haven’t forgotten it! The ramp has been removed and sent next door to Wedo vehicles for a minor repair before it comes back to be refitted and finished off.

That’s one of the advantages of having different parts of the WeDo family working alongside each other:

🔧 WeDo Vehicles sorts the repair.
🎨 WeDo Graphics sorts the Chapter 8 markings.
🚛 And the trailer leaves looking considerably less “farm field” and considerably more ready for work!

Here’s a little printing fact for your Saturday: CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key. 🖨️

The “K” comes from traditional printing, where the black plate was called the key plate. It supplied the darkest areas and sharpest details that helped bring an image together.

That bit of printing history still lives on in modern design. Whether we’re preparing lettering, signs or vehicle graphics, getting the artwork ready for print matters just as much as making it look good on screen. ✨
